Display or Shelve?
Display. I love the cowboy, old fashioned feel of this cover. Plus, he has a cool hat, sword and pistols – awesome!
This is definitely not for younger readers and is kind of like an adult – young adult book. (The author’s website says its an adult book but I found it in the YA section of the library.) There really aren’t any faults I can find in this book – it was the exact story I’ve been looking for – well written, funny, big plot, very cinematic with lots of action scenes, interesting characters who grow throughout the course of the story, mysteries. It was a really good adventure novel and you get swept up in the world. This is everything I want my story to be! Read it!!
Reread or Remember?
This is the first in a series although the sequels The Black Lung Captain and The Iron Jackal are already out. According to the author’s website, they’re all standalone. I’m definitely going to have to find them – I can’t wait to read more adventure with Frey and the crew of the Ketty Jay!
5 out of 5!
