Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
The thing with Morgan Matson’s books (I loved Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour!) is you get so wrapped up in the characters’ world. You really feel as though you’re at the beach house, cycling around the town, bumping into Henry…
So this one is about Taylor’s family who return to their summer home after her dad gets really bad news. The last time they’d been there, Taylor left behind a mess in the form of Henry, and her ex-best friend.
I read this a while ago so I can’t remember much, but I know the characters had real personalities and quirks and motives and I liked them all. I loved all the tiny things (like the stray dog, and the hundreds of ketchup bottles) that weren’t really needed, but gave the story something extra. It was a nice, well written book in an awesome location that I really liked.
