Review: Outcast by Adrienne Kress

In Outcast by Adrienne Kress angels have been coming down and taking people for the past six years, so when one appears in Riley’s backyard, she goes out with a shotgun and shoots it. Turns out its a hot guy who thinks its 1956. Together they try to find a way to bring back the people who were taken.

I loved Riley and Gabe together, and I loved them apart. It was really fun to read everything from Riley’s very realistic, strong perspective, and Gabe was the apparent bad boy motorcyclist who was actually really sweet. Together they had some amusing conversations. The other characters had their own small stories and development, and the setting – in a small town by a bayou place – was something new.

The story itself was interesting – certainly something I’ve never read before, although there were angels and Nephilim – but it wasn’t really my thing. There was nothing wrong with it at all, though the story was kinda crazy (and creepy in places!). It was well written, humorous, and there were plenty of mysteries and twists, but it just wasn’t for me. I’d definitely recommend it to people who like paranormal contemporary though.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read!
