Review: Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore

Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore is very different to her first book Graceling, which it is a companion-sequel to. The story is the consequences of King Leck’s rule and how Bitterblue tries to help her Kingdom recover.

Because of this, the book is not that great. It’s interesting and there’s mysteries, but it doesn’t feel like a brand new idea or adventure and it doesn’t explore the world for Bitterblue is always either in her castle or the city around it.

I liked that Katsa and Po from Graceling were in it, but they seemed childish and far less awesome than before.

I did get caught up in the world though and definitely enjoyed reading but I would have liked something more instead of only looking back at the past.
